Frequently Asked Questions

Why "Blue Roan Software"?
Blue Roan programmer Andy Clayton owns a blue roan cocker spaniel called Misty. Rather than releasing titles as "Andy Clayton Software" it seemed like a good idea to use my furry best friend as the basis for my software label.

Are you a commercial company?
No. Blue Roan Software is the title under which Andy Clayton of Christchurch, Dorset, England releases software written in his spare time.

Can I get hold of the source code for any of your titles?
The projects on this site are not usually open source, although I am interested in hearing from anyone who would like to get involved in freeware application development. (See also the next question.)

Is your software available in languages other than English?
No. But I'd like to fix this, so if you are able to provide translations for me please get in touch. (Use any feedback page on our software information pages to do this.)

Do you write software for Windows or Linux?
All of the current software titles from Blue Roan are available exclusively for the Apple Mac. However, Andy is seriously considering writing a Windows version of Gallery Card Insert Maker. More details in early 2009.

How can I find out more about Andy Clayton?
Andy Clayton is Blue Roan's programmer. You can find out more about him at his personal web site www.claytonfamily.org.uk.
